Programme SILC Conference Dubai

The event is already a great success, with over 200 young leaders from the majority of the top schools in the UAE as well as from abroad now signed up. We are very close to being fully booked, so if you have a friend who is thinking of coming, you can invite them using the referral code FRIENDINVITE2019. As there are only a limited number of spaces available, the final tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis. Please note that as we expect the remaining tickets to go quickly, tickets will not be available at the door.

Programme and Timings
The amazing games, workshops and activities are specially designed to enhance student leadership and improve goal setting, time management, communication, critical-thinking and other important skills in a high energy and entertaining format.
All students will finish the conference with a certificate of participation as well as a Personal Action Plan identifying how to accomplish their goals and personal areas for personal improvement in their daily lives. Students learn by taking part in challenging team games related to the learning outcomes while being guided by our trainers.

10:00: Grand opening with Dubai Drums and SILC Director
10:20: Students interview expert panel: Joy Aljouny Forbes businesswoman of the year and Ayesh Albarguthi, chairman of the Emirates Investment Centre
10:40: Kickstart of the SILC Leadership Games
Team games, each related to specific learning outcomes, followed by an evaluation, all under guidance of the trainers. Games include the Pyramid Challenge on evaluation and planning, The Marshmallow Challenge on goals, The Interview Game on communication skills, the Hidden Gem at the beach on time management and priorities and the Dubai Drums workshop on connection and collaboration. Teams rotate between the activities and compete based on results, learning and self-evaluation.

17:00: Recap and Personal Action Plans
17:30: Music and dance performance by Melodica students
17:40: Students interview expert panel: Houriya Taheri the first Arab female coach of the national football team and a second surprise guest.

Parents are welcome between 09:00-10:00 and 18:00-20:00 at the Parent & Student Café
Parents are encouraged to visit the dedicated Parent & Student Café, open between 09:00-10:00 and 18:00-20:00. This is a space for parents and students to socialise, get refreshments, chat with SILC Academy trainers about the conference programme and our premier Summer Leadership Camp in Switzerland in July and August, join a presentation by the SILC Academy Director and meet our event partners.
