The SILC Student Leadership Conference delivers an unbeatable learning and development experience for your child, combining modules from the SILC curriculum – developed over 10 years organising the successful modules at top private schools around the world and in the UAE- enriched by workshops and talks from world leading organisations and industry experts.

09:00-9:45 – Optional Parents & Students cafe and Welcome by SILC Director
9:45-18:00 – Conference, games and workshops
18:00-20:00 – Optional dinner, conference movie production together with students, media training and social gathering with live entertainment and music. Pick up is possible between 18:30-20:00
18:30-20:00 – Optional Parents & Students cafe
20:00 – End of conference, pick up possible bewteeen 18:30-20:00

  • Parents and students are welcome in the morning and or evening to enjoy some healthy refreshments and attendance for parents is included in the fee.
  • Meet with our education and corporate partners.
  • The Director of SILC Academy will also present the learning outcomes of the conference in more detail enabling parents to effectively follow up on their child’s learning experience if preferred.
  • It is a great opportunity to learn more and socialise when dropping off or picking up your children. Valet parking is complimentary. Students can travel by taxi, Uber or Public Transport.

09:45-18:00 – Conference, games and workshops

  • Learning through fun games, workshops and presentations from well known guest speakers and our SILC trainers while meeting new friends through our purpose designed activities and buddy system.
  • Students learn while doing and make new friends along the way. Students can also join with a friend and we make sure you are working together in the same team if preferred.
  • Bringing the best of our successful school workshops, school camps and summer camps to a one-day workshop. Developed from the SILC framework, the modules and activities include leadership workshops and games such as the Pyramid Challenge in the garden, the Trading Challenge at the Beach, the Interview Game in the Breakout rooms, and are fully integrated with the learning outcomes of the conference.

  • Time management and leadership.
    Manage time and decisions effectively by setting short and long term goals, make constructive choices how to spend time and learn everyday by effective self evaluation.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
    Enhance communication skills in the areas of presentations, media training, movie productions, presentations, effective conflict management and (university) applications and interviews.
  • Teamroles
    Develop personal talents, align specific teamroles in a team, motivate team-members and create synergy while achieving outstanding results.

Buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day
A healthy lunch for all diets and refreshments throughout the day with great entertainment and networking opportunities.

Personal Action Plans

Every student receives a Personal Action Plan, one of our signature learning tools. This proven development tool tracks participants personal achievements, including all competences and skills learned at the conference, and is a valuable device for planning future academic and personal progress, and is a great way to show mentors at school, friends or anyone else what you have learned. There is even an option to follow up on the learning outcomes one month post conference with your trainer and your parents through Skype.

18:00-20:00 – Dinner, conference movie production, media training and social gathering with live entertainment and music at the beach. Students can be picked up between 18:30-20:00

An exciting evening meal for students with some special leadership challenges, media training on the go and live cultural entertainment. Students can be picked up between 18:30-20:00 while parents can meet with us at the Parent and Student Cafe if preferred until 20:00. Of course students are encouraged to stay until 20:00 to enjoy the culinary highlights, live entertainment, DJ at the beach, our conference video production and leadership challenge!

If parents want they are invited to meet with our educational, top university and corporate partners when picking up their child(ren). Valet parking complimentary.

20:00 – End of conference

Post conference: Optional follow up on personal action plans
Each participant has the option for a follow up digital meeting with their dedicated trainer and/or our Head of Student Learning to go though the Personal Action Plan together with parents (if preferred) one month after the student leadership conference.

Personalised learning for every student

  • Students are divided into core groups of around 40 students when attending workshops and sessions, from which they will work in teams of 8-15 students while participating in games and challenges. Our caring staff makes sure students bond from moment one while working together on exciting team challenges. Together we learn and have fun!
  • Every group has a dedicated trainer assigned from our pool of experienced educators, who will be providing individual feedback, evaluations and support throughout the day.
  • All students will receive our Personal Action Plan aligned with the premium international schools to promote ongoing development, and each participant has the option for a follow up digital meeting with their dedicated trainer and/or our Head of Student Learning.
  • Don’t worry if your child is joining alone; our buddy system means that all students will be paired with a friend upon arrival, and we will do some fun ice-braking activities at the beginning of the conference to make sure that shyness is not an issue. Anyone who is joining as a friend can simply let us know when they sign-up with who they would like to be together during games and workshops.

Students learn by doing, participating in highly interactive workshops and challenges delivered by industry and educational experts and our senior trainers – all of whom have experience working with youngsters from around the world – involving dynamic presentations, games, evaluations and personal action plans. No dull classroom moments here!

Students have fun learning together, developing their communication and teamwork skills and forming new friendships with other likeminded young leaders.

An amazing, enriching and entertaining one-day experience with a long-lasting impact on your future

Students will spend the day working together in teams with our dedicated and experienced trainers in a safe and friendly environment that we encourage them to thrive and develop their skills. Students will be constantly supervised by our staff throughout the day, all of them have longterm experience supervising students as trainers and in the wider education industry. Students are welcome to join alone, or with friends – everyone gets a buddy.

The day will be fully catered, including lunch and video presentations from our Student Ambassadors, and an evening networking gala that includes a culinary world tour of food stations and cultural entertainment.

The experience doesn’t finish at the end of the day – the learning outcomes of the SILC Student Leadership Conference are designed to provide sustained value for your child’s personal and academic life, enhanced by their Personal Learning Plan and optional follow up meeting with their trainer and/or our Head of Student Learning.
